The Children at the Border: Stay or Leave?
A
few years ago people from all over Latin America were immigrating to the United
States and leaving their children behind. Now it’s the other way around,
children are being sent alone to the border to look for a better future for
themselves, children of all ages. Many times these kids have no family on the
other side to them keep them safe. These children are coming here alone escaping violence in their countries. Since october 2013 more than 50,000 children have migrated compared to previous statistics.

These
children are not guilty of anything; they just want help. They were sent here
because their families know how bad it would be for them if they stayed in the
their country of origin.
For instance,
many Honduran children are being sent to the border. Also Honduras ranks one of
the places with the highest homicides rates.
It is no secret that immigration
happens. Its been happening since the beginning of times, not only did Latinos
immigrate but so did Asians, Europeans and what not. Many wonder, why so many
young kids started migrating. Gangs, gun violence and drugs are just some of
the reasons why they come.
Some argue that such high number
reported of immigrants coming in to the state is affecting the economy because
it takes
a lot to deport the people back to their country of origin. People have stupid
reasons for not wanting these children here. They are doing no wrong to anyone,
we are all made of the same material. Living in different countries, speaking
different languages and having different skin color make us no different. These
children like American born children suffer, feel, and need our help.

Kids coming from these countries to ours are not coming with the intention of messing anything up or costing money to the government. they are here because their countries are unsafe and feel like they can find protection her in the land of the freedom. All they really know is that their country is dangerous and that they deserve to live in a safe place. We can't really blame them for that, can we?
This is a problem, one that should
not be solved by deportation but by showing that these kids are welcome here
and they will be safe. That what they
came here looking for in the first place a safe place to stay. There is so much
that can be done like, having multiple centers to which kids can arrive and
feel at home. Nobody points at them because they weren’t born in the united
states. The kids need our help and we must do something for them because at the
end we are no different from them.
